'Survivor's remorse': Jamaican Houstonians react to Hurricane Melissa making landfall
Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 storm, slamming into Jamaica, leaving Houstonians with ties and loved ones on the island watching from afar nervously.
Callete Moultin, a Jamaican resident currently in the U.S. on a visa, was supposed to return home this week, but the hurricane altered her plans. "Please, please stay indoors and trust God because God can do the impossible," Moultin urged her family back home.
NBC News' Tom Llamas spoke to Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness about the current state of the county as Hurricane Melissa makes landfall and how residents are being impacted.
As Hurricane Melissa barrels toward the island nation, only a fraction of residents have headed to evacuation centers.
